1.These Procedures are prescribed by the Ministry of Agriculture
to implement the proviso to Paragraph 1 of Article 29 of the
Animal Industry Act and the Ministry's Announcement No.1131893637,
issued on August 2, 2024, designating chickens, ducks, and geese
slaughtered for the production of kosher poultry as exempt from
the requirement to be slaughtered in slaughterhouses.
2.To prevent the occurrence and spread of poultry diseases and to
verify that the applicant possesses the qualifications and
capability to produce and supply kosher poultry, an applicant
must submit the following documents together with the application:
(1) A Poultry Health Certificate or a Declaration of Poultry Health;
and
(2) A document issued by the Israel Economic and Cultural Office
in Taipei certifying that the applicant is qualified to produce
and supply kosher poultry.
3.An applicant must complete the application form set out in Annex
1 and submit it, together with the documents specified in the
preceding provision, to the municipality or county (city)
government having jurisdiction over the location where the
poultry will be slaughtered at least seven (7) days prior to
the scheduled slaughter date.
4.Upon review of the application referred to in the preceding
provision, the municipality or county (city) government having
jurisdiction over the slaughter location will issue a Review
Notification in the form prescribed in Annex 2.
5.Where the application is approved by the municipality or county
(city) government having jurisdiction over the slaughter location,
the chickens, ducks, and geese slaughtered for the production
of kosher poultry are exempt from the requirement to be slaughtered
in a slaughterhouse. However, such slaughter must still comply
with all applicable laws and regulations governing animal
protection, environmental protection, and other relevant matters. |
